WHY YOU SHOULD #CLEANupYourSkincare TODAY

Over the past few years more and more people have become more health conscious about what they put in their bodies. Studies have shown with exercise and eating a well-balanced diet you can maintain optimal health. With that being said, shouldn't we be just as conscious of what we put on our bodies? If you're not quite sure, I'm here to tell you. The answer is hard YES! And here's why. Your skin is an organ and serves as a protective layer for your entire body. It absorbs everything from smog, smoke, pollen, toxin, etc. These are known as free radicals. So with all of these environmental factors wearing on your skin, you must take preventative measures to counteract the damage that these free radicals cause over time. The best way to do this is by using real natural products that help you fight against free radicals, all while achieving and/or maintaining a healthy glow. I say "real" because for the vast majority of consumers, this is not being done. I dread being the bearer of bad news but I must let you know the truth.

Through my extensive research of the most popular, widely used body care brands I've come to the realization that I've/We've been being lied to. Did you know that there are currently no legal requirements for any cosmetic manufacturer marketing products to American consumers to test their products for safety? That means companies can use whatever they want, however they want, and say whatever they need to make a sale, without any regard for the public health. I know, I know. What a shocker right? I didn't believe at first either but it is true. Here's the kicker though; the FDA's cosmetic regulations have gone unchanged since 1938. That's over 82 years of consistently marketing toxic personal care, home, and cosmetic products to the masses. It's now wonder there are so many of these lawsuit commercials on television. The saying goes, "If it's not broke don't fix it." Well I say they are highly disconnected and it is most definitely broken.

So it's time for a skincare upgrade and it's clear that it must start with YOU. Gone are the days of trusting companies that plaster "All Natural" on the front of a product, to mislead your attention from checking the ingredients. Turn that bad boy around to check if it is what it says it is. Knowledge is key and the more conscious you are about what you use, the better you are able to love your skin. You have to take your power back just like I did! By becoming a conscious consumer you are putting the wellness of yourself and your family into your own hands. You no longer have to fall subject to false marketing of cosmetic and personal care products. Amore Organics is here to help you along the way through education and by being a leader in the industry to change the current standards by making clean beauty products the new normal.

"But how do I start?” you may say. It begins with knowing what to look for (meaning what SHOULD NOT) be in the products you're using. The Laundry List is an ingredients guide to start with. It's a list of known toxic chemicals widely used in the industry that will NEVER be included in any Amore Organics formulations. It's also the ingredients you should not be using in any products you may have in your home. You can download it to your phone here to use as a reference during your next shopping trip. We encourage research because we want to create a community of smart, well rounded, self-loving individuals that care about their impact on the environment. Education is a major part of Amore Organics mission. So we do our best to keep you up to date with the latest news important to the industry. We believe in transparency through marketing and the well-being of our customers so we pledge to never use any toxic ingredient that has known harmful effects on the body or the environment.

So now that the curtain has been snatched back for you to see the cosmetics and personal care for all its glory, what will you do now? Now that you know what you've really been rubbing on your skin, spraying in your house, and putting on your babies, what are you going to do with that information? The choice is yours. I know that the data may be overwhelming but it is our mission to do all we can to make the transition as easy as possible. A tip on how to go about making the transition to clean beauty, is to do it one product at a time. That way you can gauge what works for you and what doesn't. Also, ditch the products that have the highest toxic exposure levels first. These are products that are not usually washed off or are left on the skin for some time (like lotions, sunscreens, and shampoos).

I'm going to leave you with one last report, just to make your decision a little easier. Until next time, LOVE YOURSELF LOVE YOUR SKIN. According to MSN, the total number of toxic ingredients in cosmetic products that are banned in the US (a mere 11) fail in comparison to those of other countries like the UK and Australia, where more than 1,400 chemicals have been restricted or completely banned from personal care products.
